School Construction Financing
Established in 2008, the Building Excellent Schools Today (BEST) program provides annual funding through competitive grants to school districts, charter schools, institute charter schools, boards of cooperative educational services, and the Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind. BEST funds can be used for the construction of new schools as well as general construction and renovation of existing school facility systems and structures.
The Colorado Department of the Treasury has financed over $1.7 billion to update or build new K-12 schools, supporting tens of thousands of students and creating thousands of local jobs.
