3:15 – 4:45 pm CCI & ACCA Concurrent Session Colorado Secure Savings Program Cascade ABC In 2020, the Colorado General Assembly passed SB20-200 authorizing the creation and implementation of the Colorado Secure Savings Program (CSSP), a state-run retirement program. The statute requires all businesses with five or more employees, and who have been in business for two or more years to either enroll their employees in CSSP or facilitate a private workplace retirement plan. Addressing the retirement savings gap in Colorado has massive implications for state and local budgets in the future. This panel will discuss the budget implications of the retirement savings crisis, the basics of CSSP, and the role of local government in addressing this issue.
