Official Colorado.gov Domain Reinforces Secure, Streamlined Claims Process
Feb. 23, 2026 (DENVER) —Coloradans looking for missing money through the Great Colorado Payback will find the state’s unclaimed property database at a new website address: unclaimedproperty.colorado.gov. The previous address, colorado.findyourunclaimedproperty.com, will continue to direct users to the program website, and online services will remain unchanged.
“It is the State Treasury’s responsibility to safeguard Coloradans' unclaimed property,” said Colorado State Treasurer Dave Young. “The security embedded in a colorado.gov domain reflects the Great Colorado Payback’s values and commitment to protecting people’s assets until they are returned to the rightful owners.”
The upgraded website address aligns with the program’s mission to provide a safe, secure, and completely free way for individuals and businesses to search for and claim missing money. The colorado.gov domain identifies the website as an official government service and provides added assurance for users searching for unclaimed property online.
“Moving to the State website domain helps people quickly recognize the Great Colorado Payback is a safe and legitimate program,” said Unclaimed Property Director Bianca Gardelli. “This change makes it easier for Coloradans to verify they are using the official site and reinforces trust throughout the claim process.”
The Great Colorado Payback returns lost or forgotten assets, such as uncashed checks, utility deposits, insurance proceeds, and other financial property to rightful owners. Claims may belong to individuals, businesses, nonprofits, towns, cities, and other organizations.
The State Treasury currently holds $2.5 billion owed to more than 17 million entities. Coloradans can search for unclaimed property and begin a claim at unclaimedproperty.colorado.gov or greatcopayback.colorado.gov.
